Lonely monsters are beautiful.  This incredible work was created by one of my favorite artists Rick Baker.  You will recognize his enchanting and brilliant special effects makeup work in films from Gorillas in the Mist to the MIB trilogy. And of course we will never forget the hairy makeover he gave to baby faced Michael Jackson in Thriller.  However what you may not know is that this 7 time oscar winner is also a fine artist and photographer, he is old school and handcrafts his monsters knowing that the human “touch” is what gives them their humanity.  However he also understands that combining this skill with todays technology can bring dreams to life in a way never imagined before. While CGI is here to stay it is wonderful to know that the handmade art of Monster Makeup survives and thrives in the world that Rick Baker has created.
